I graduated from my first skating class/session on Wednesday. I received a diploma, it has a teddy bear on it! I also earned a patch that says level one and a bunch of gold stickers! The best part about graduation day was the littlest kids who I guess are about 4 or 5 years old, did a routine for all of us...too cute!

I have a long way to go but I want more gold stickers, so I am going to keep going!

In art news I ordered a Dremel tool! I can't wait to try it out. Also some Milk Paint. It is non toxic, traditional and I love the way it looks, can't wait to experiment with it! I have a new easel on the way too. I also have some shapes worked out for a collaborative ceramic project with my mom. Lots of projects cooking.

I am breaking in my new skates. The hard guards on the blades make it so you can basically walk around the house all day to help break them in. I practice standing on one foot, bending with good form and other skating movements. It is kind of tricky when you are not in motion.....but good practice.
I like this photo because it shows my scars. It shows how far I have come. Standing in my skates, healed and strong. I still am weaker on one side and feel the effect of being hit by a truck 10 years ago, to some degree. But hey they told me I may never walk again...and here I am in my family room standing in skates. Living proof that baby steps matter!
...Onward!!

Frankenstein Friday

Another Frankenstein Friday and I feel fine! Frankenstein is taking a nap after a vigorous Chipmunk hunt...we have decided it is a victory if he can chase them out of the yard, no need to go all out and kill um. Though I am sure he wouldn't mind that. It is all part of our kinder gentler stance on Chipmunk-Chug relations.

52 weeks 17/52, Tracey Face Tuesday

I broke my one photo a week rule this week, but for a good reason. I framed myself with my dear friend Robin. Well with one of my portraits of her. All last week I tracked her progress across the country as she drove herself and all her belongings in a bald tire, leaky moving van. She gets the hero of the month award! All the best to her!

I have been feeling guilty about neglecting the blog. But rest assured good things are happening...art things. I am allowing myself some slack over the Summer months, working with out documenting it. I can share, that I ordered a new easel and brushes that should arrive any day now. I have taken photos for a new portrait and am busy on a wood project that has captivated my imagination. But that is all I can say for now.

The garden is doing amazingly well. As is our 4 legged hero Frankenstein. Mr. Eleven spends time playing hockey, fishing and making me yummy foods. Truman spends her days roaming the yard, taking dips in the pond and trimming my gourd and tomato plants lower leaves.

Maybe just by admitting I have been slacking will get me to start posting regularly....but maybe, just maybe, it is Summer and this is how it should be.
In-any-case....ONWARD!!!

I made it just under the wire, 16 of 52! We had primary elections here today. Voting make me feel good.
