Thursday is Kick Ass Chick day

Who's that girl...it's me! Why am I kick ass?...because last night while cooking dinner the sky fell on my head!
Mr. Eleven and I were cooking up a typical meat and potatoes meal. I had just brought the steak in from the grill in the yard. The mashed potatoes were perfect. I was just about to get the frozen peas and corn started. But the bag of peas was frozen solid. So I banged it against the wall in an attempt to loosen it up. But I loosened the wrong thing. It was then that I felt immense pain on my head! One of the lovely tiles my mom made out of clay, that I hung above the door in the kitchen, fell off the wall when the peas hit! It hit me squarely on the crown of my head..ouch! Lucky for me I had the bag of peas in my hand, ready to use as a cold compress on the wound. Since my head still hurts, I get to be Kick Ass Chick today!
I did a few of these, quick self portraits when I was doing the actual, KAC paintings. This is my favorite one. I was also running my dog walking biz at that time. The dog walking enabled me to paint. I made up the dog. But he sure reminds me of Frankenstein.

this is one of my favorite paintings of yours that i've seen so far. totally gorgeous, totally kickass.

i have a lot of ceramic tiles in my life--i would neither want them to break nor land on my head! yikes. dramatic times in your household!

I once painted the white French Bull dog I longed for into a self portrait. I couldn't swing having my own dog at the time. But longed for a Frenchy. Soon after that I started my dog walking biz. My first client turned out to be, an all white English bulldog puppy! I felt like I painted him into my life!
Too bad it doesn't work like that all the time..I would paint a solid gold toilet..kidding!

ha! that's excellent. and i am working on something similar: my canine soulmate, a husky named monkey, lives in SF, and i have not (yet) been able to bring her to NYC. so i have written her into the novel i'm working on. maybe that act has helped me get closer to bringing her here.

I know it will! I think it already has. All the best on the novel and Monkey!
I found the chug on pet-finder and beat out 27 people for him. When I saw his photo I knew we had to be together. It was so stressful waiting to find out the verdict.
Hug a Husky!

hey, thanks. i have a plan in place for at least a sabbatical with the husky (whom i hug A LOT). she is the love of my life, and i'll be with her again in 27 days!!

i'm so glad you and the chug found each other. (otherwise, i wouldn't have frankenstein friday!)
