neat stuff...

Neat stuff (click on: view ledger, to view ledgers)that connects the dots....and a little bit more..I love the snails the best!
Wow, different perspectives, time, history and just plane wild.

Globe 4...

The other day I found a half of a birds egg in the yard. It was blue, a beautiful Robins egg blue, although I don't know if it came form a Robin. I added the color to the top of the globe and at once I recalled the sky in New Mexico, Sally's diamond plaster walls the Desert air.
It is still very wet and shinny...
Almost done. I am going to live with it for a few days and see...
I started a new painting yesterday, on board. On a flat surface. It is really weird painting on a flat surface, again. Like being on a boat all day, when your feet finally hit sold ground. It feels, kind of wobbly and disorienting, familiar yet weird.

Colors

so pretty!

When Frankenstein hunts...

even the squirrels stay out of his way. This guy grabs a snack in safety while the Chug tracks chipmunks below.

Catching some rays

Truman had a nice day of sunning in the garden yesterday.

Frankenstein Friday

Listen...can you hear it? Chipmunks are a foot. Frankenstein listens then picks up the trail again. He has come close but thankfully he hasn't caught any cute little Chippy monkeys today.

Globe 4...

I started work on the plaster half globe yesterday. It hurts! I swear, I am such a baby!
I kept thinking about the day my dad took the training wheels off my bike. I just couldn't get it. I kept crashing. I got so mad and frustrated I threw my pretty purple bike into the fence! I yelled: I HATE YOU, STUPID BIKE!
Well, after flipping out, I got on my little bike and rode! It was great and all I had to do was stick with it. Learning new things and starting them is a rocky road for me. I am not just a slow learner I am stubborn too!
I love my half globe and even though I want to throw it into the fence and yell at it...I won't give up! Even if I want to cry. Onward!

Fruit load....

Our cherry and peach trees are loaded with fruit.
Just perfect...cherry!
A bird family lives in that house, I think it is a Nuthatch, but I have only seen the birds eyes looking at me from the hole. The squirrels eat the peaches that fall on the ground. I find half eatten peaches in the oddest places. Last year Deer came and ate peaches right off the tree. In any case, so pretty!

Chipmunk revenge

Frankensteins big sod dog, dog house is where the little cuties strike first!
Look closely at the dark spot near the top...
It is a new chipmunk tunnel...I just found the exit, it comes out at the base of the tail of the big sod dog, dog house!
Frankenstein has got them scrambling. But the more he hunts them the more holes they dig for escape routs! I hope this doesn't do in the big sod dog. But if it does...I am starting a rumor about hidden chipmunk WMD's!

Update:

...see Mrs. Browns awesome bbq photos here.

More drawings...

that's it..all caught up.

More drawings...

These drawings were done right after my return from New Mexico. My head was swimming with images of folk art and horses.
This one is sideways also...I don't know why they are posting weird, but I am leaving them...a new angle is interesting...

Men in fish...

More drawings...

This is sideways, but I am leaving it, because I like that it is flying at a ridiculous angle. I did these right after I got home form New Mexico. I picked up a box of 96 crayons and these are my first crayola drawings..

I had to do a little cartoon of Sally and I walking Jack and Zoe. I miss them all so much!
I like the way the kids used the crayons...I will get better with them. I could really use some lessons in crayon usage from the Under 10 set!

Yesterdays drawings...

I found a little car in the garden yesterday. I think it belongs to Angus...
more pollination...
My friends June told me to let the caterpillars eat my parsley plants, they will become butterfly's and the plant will recover and thrive afterwards. I drew flowers not parsley, but I think their fate is the same...get munched today, thrive tomorrow!

BBQ leftovers...

We had a nice little get together this past weekend. I was too busy running around to take any photos. However, Our friend Mrs. Brown took some amazing photos. Bridget took some too and when she posts them I will link. It was a perfect day, with perfect light. With great people with their cute kids. The food was along the lines of the movie, The Big Night. Just when you thought you had had your last bite, out came: grilled shrimp, Mr. Eleven's butter burgers pulled pork.....and on and on...
It was a great kick off to our Summer. Frankenstein had the time of his life (well next to hunting chipmunks) with Angus. Angus is a little boy and Frankenstein loves him. They had a blast! The kids spent most of the day drawing with my new crayons. They left me some of their art. Now I have these great drawings hanging on my wall. I think some of the coloring was done by Holly and Tony (Mum and dad to Angus and Noah) but they did a good job too!
After the guest were gone and the fire was out in the pit. Mr. Eleven and I got some blankets and slept out under the stars. It was the perfect ending to a great day.
Yesterday, Frankenstein was still tuckered out and so were we. We lazed around and ate yummy leftovers all day. We were happy zombies.
I got great input on my work from our guests. Ideas to try and directions to follow. I even found my stretcher cradle maker!
I am so grateful and pleased I think I will burst!

Update: I am not sure why I can't link to the photos...I am working on it, sorry about that.
